Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

12. Zero 7Simple Things

I can’t even remember how I came to know about Zero 7 or this album, but it’s something I’ll always play when I’m on my hols. It’s one of those ones you can have on in the background and it becomes a beautiful accompaniment to hanging with friends or having a bit of dinner. I think ‘Destiny’ is my favourite track. This was the album that introduced me to Sia, too, and I’m a massive fan of Sia now – talk about someone with a distinctive writing and singing style! But this album is so chilled it just takes me away to holidays. It makes me feel like I’ve got sun on my skin, the sound of the waves, and a cocktail in my hand. In fact it makes me want to go on holiday.
