Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

1. Shoshana ZuboffThe Age Of Surveillance Capitalism

It’s really the book that gave direction to the album. While reading it in the summer of 2022 I had, for the first time in a while, the impetus to make a new record. It gave me a lot of drive. Going through the experience of reading it brought freshness and direction to the process. All the lexicon and language around it was inspiring to make electronic music, but initially it was more a curiosity. It wasn’t just about the book, it was the politics and social sciences too: the evolution of humankind and our future in general. It was very new to me. When I picked it up, I had no idea what it was about. It was just in our living room and I was curious. I thought it was so interesting, but also alarming. I realised I had no consciousness about these concepts. I felt a bit clueless and silly, not knowing these things at all.
