Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

1. Sufjan StevensSeven Swans

From the opening bars of the opening song this album kills me every time. There’s something so vulnerable about Sufjan’s songs and his voice is like a balm for my soul. His writing is a real shining light to me and I feel like I understand the depths he goes to in it. I recently decided to play ‘All The Trees of The Field Will Clap Their Hands’ as my pre-show song and found it calmed me in a really special way.

This album would definitely be one I’d save from a house fire and hold close as I ran for safety.

"And I am joining all my thoughts to you/ And I’m preparing every part for you…"
