RW: That’s one that I associate with touring and going to Bristol, cos we always put ‘Karmacoma’ on as we’re driving into the city.
JH: It’s a record we were introduced to by our tour manager, Lee. He’s really into Bristol trip hop from the 90s, like Portishead, who we really loved when we saw them at Latitude in 2016. Lee plays us new stuff from that scene all the time, and this is our favourite. I love the production, how all the beats are tuned down, and how it was so influenced by Jamaican music and the Jamaican culture in Bristol at the time. RW: A favourite lyric of mine is "I was lookin’ back to see if you were lookin’ back at me/To see me lookin’ back at you". Great Lyric! We’ve got one trip hop inspired track on the album, ‘Snakes & Ladders’. JH: It’s not that obvious. RW: It’s the beat mainly, we just call it the trip hop song.
