I wanted to put some new things in, and this has just been released. What I love about footwork is that it’s a form of dance music in the absolute sense, it’s made for the body, it was born outside of clubs. So the patterns and the rhythms and the structures you hear are directly from the body’s ability to do things, and the music is developed around the ability to dance to it. It’s pushed the idea of dance music to its limit – can you get any faster? Can you do any more than that? Humans have technology, and technology can do loads more than us, but humans can’t, physically. So it’s that sense where we live in this huge technological acceleration that we’re creating with our brains, but footwork is like the pinnacle, the maximum point that we’re at with our physical bodies.
