Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. Diana Ross and Marvin GayeDiana & Marvin

Marvin Gaye, what a voice, wow. For me, Diana Ross is my all-time favourite female singer. Listening to her singing with Marvin Gaye on these songs was just completely… it was my idea of heaven at the time. And of course, I was falling in love myself, I had my first boyfriend and all of that stuff going on. So it was the soundtrack to me having my first crush and longing for someone and loving someone. Romance was featuring in my life for the first time, so it was the perfect soundtrack to my emerging womanhood.
