Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

11. ScientistScientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires

Scientist was King Tubby’s sorcerer’s apprentice, and learnt his dub skills from the master well. On his own records, he took the craziness further with a more-is-always-better approach to the crazy cutting and dicing in his dubs yet the space he leaves is massive. For me, dub is all about taking things out… it’s about the space.

Recorded at Channel One with The Roots Radics Band, this still sounds fresher than fresh.
