Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

11. Jake ThackrayLah- Di-Dah

He tells full stories in songs and you feel like you’ve travelled somewhere with him. That’s probably why always seem to go back to this record – it has this song called ‘Molly Metcalf’ about a woman who has lost her sheep and she dies out in the moors because she doesn’t want to come back without her sheep. The track really captured the reduced music style – just his voice and guitar – which is the kind of style I enjoy in my own music.
