Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

10. Ivor CutlerDandruff

I listened to his music when I lived in London around 12 years ago. His stuff has equal amounts of fun and truth. I wanted him to be part of this tribe or community of musicians I had built up in my head. His music was different in a way that felt very familiar to me. I also have a plug-in keyboard that sounds a bit like a wind instrument and makes a sound that’s quite similar to Ivor Cutler’s sound – and again it felt good to sound a bit like him.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Surgeon, Alex Kapranos
