2. Ghostface KillahThe Pretty Toney Album

This album is so beautiful – I love that intense character play. He is going so deeply into what makes Ghostface exciting, but then with this ‘Pretty Toney’ thing he’s also taking on a character, and making songs in character. At the time when I was discovering all this stuff, I found that so exciting. It’s like a Marvel universe, and the more you listen the more it gives. It’s this constant layering of texture, playfulness, toughness, then the bravado of being that good and having that much fun with it.
