9. Louis Slipperz Presents Chester PFrom The Ashes

Chester P was a hero of mine, and this album was such a brilliant, cohesive offering. At the time, there wasn’t much coming out of the scene in the UK that was as ambitious as this sonically, or as accomplished lyrically. I think he’s one of the most interesting poets and lyricists making rap music in our country. I listen to this when I want to remind myself how it felt to get excited – when I first heard it, it just made me want to rap and rap and rap.
