6. Led ZeppelinUntitled
For maybe 30 years I didn’t listen to Led Zeppelin, because it was just the upper level of everything. I didn’t want to destroy it by listening to it too much. And of course, my dream was that I would have a chance to see Led Zeppelin playing. But nowadays, I don’t want to see them. But I have a 14-year-old daughter, and for her birthday a couple of months ago we bought tickets to Robert Plant and Iron Maiden.
Who did she want to see?
I think she’s really interested in both. I had started to put some Led Zeppelin CDs to the car. And nowadays she always asks: Can we listen to Led Zeppelin?
Is your child now the same age as you were when you were listening to them for the first time?
Yeah, exactly the same age. Sometimes I feel that Circle is a very typical rock band. But we have always been very interested in the avant-garde. There are a lot of avant-garde bands into rock & roll, but we are the opposite. And I think with Led Zeppelin, they’re a typical rock band, but there is always something behind it. I try to keep the same spirit in Circle’s music, too.
