Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

4. MagmaÜdü Wüdü

I heard Magma for the first time in the early 90s, and I went totally crazy. My second mission was to get Magma playing in my hometown. They visited Pori in 2006, and I finally met my idols. One month before the show, I went totally insane because I was so nervous that these people were coming to Pori, but it was fantastic. I think they were a little bit worried about me when after the show I started to cry, because the best band in the world had played in my hometown, in this very beautiful atmosphere, at Pori theatre.

I’m an amateur musician, so I’m a little bit scared of professional musicians. Sometimes I feel that professional musicians, they don’t do very good music. I prefer amateur musicians. I don’t know why. Maybe that’s normal. But Magma, they are like real professionals. There is only one way that this music can exist, and it’s how they do it, and it’s the most professional band, and it still sounds great!
