In the 90s we didn’t have the internet. All you had was what you had discovered and what your friends had turned you onto. I saw Easy Rider growing up, but my brother was the one who really turned me onto it. He was a biker and in a motorcycle club that he started up – it was 1960s bikes only, Triumphs and so on – and he would chop up these bikes. I’d be going off the rails in San Fransisco and he lived up in the hills and we’d go and watch biker movies. So this record became a lifestyle. I’d watch the movie incessantly, I can quote the whole thing. It was this place I could return to, when shit was going down, I could reenter the world where everything was cool.
