Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. ChargauxMeditations Of A G

Chargaux are two classically trained musicians, one plays the violin and the other viola. Before them, I’d never heard the violin played like that. Just no one. I’d never actually heard the violin or viola expressed in the way that they do. And they are so themselves, you can hear their authenticity come straight through. That’s so rare in 2017 in music. You just get so many things that sound the same. I’m not talking about underground music, but mainstream. You have so many things that sound the same, so if you get to hear something or be witness to something that actually is authentic, and you get to hear passion, that is a gift within itself. In Meditations of a G, my favourite tracks are ‘Two Stars’ and ‘Eighth Overture’.
