Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

1. Elliot MossWithout the Lights

Someone that I collaborate with shared this on their Facebook page, and you could see just from the thumbnail that it looked like dance. The visuals, the dancing, the choreography and the song itself are all just beautiful. It’s all just really well executed. You’d have to watch it, since every interpretation is different, but for me, it was just executed in a way that you could feel every step and every beat, all completely intertwined. None of it is separate – dance is with sound and sound is with dance. It means that you feel everything, or at least I did. It was just one of those moments that reminded me of when I’m going to create a song and something strikes me so deeply that it just inspires a whole world of things.
