Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

7. Gregory PorterI Fall In Love Too Easily

This is the reason that we’re talking, and the reason I did an album at all.  I was on the Graham Norton show and accompanied Gregory Porter on ‘Mona Lisa’. And that’s how his record label, Decca, and Tom Lewis and Rebecca Allen and all of the wonderful people over there saw me and decided to do this album with me.  ‘I Fall in Love Too Easily’ is one of my favorite songs no matter who does it, but he and I did a version of that. I sat in with his band some few weeks ago for the in-house Universal [Music Group] staff. We rehearsed it just a little bit, and then played it, and he was just brilliant. I had the best time doing that.
