Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

9. Bill CallahanSometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle

Another record I love that I found in college is Bill Callahan’s Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle.Every time [I hear] that beginning – I think it’s ‘Jim Cain’ – I am just transported to a specific time in my life. That’s just one of those records you put on for a certain vibe. And I love Bill Callahan’s voice. I love his songwriting. I think he’s just another singular musician, and that record is definitely my favourite of his.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Tamara Lindeman, Julianna Barwick
