Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. LhasaDe Cara a la Pared

Just a track I heard which I thought was so sleepy and gorgeous, so it was bought in and played at the club. The production, the songwriting… lovely. In my teens I was schooled in Jacques Brel and Georges Brassens by a Dutch friend so the slip into Lhasa was easy enough. A faultless track. Imagine that? Making a faultless track? Play loud and slovenly slow-dance.
