Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

There was a Fopp record store in Edinburgh years ago that used to sell all sorts of oddities, cheap pressings and overstocks. I think it was my old bandmate Cliff who first bought this one, but I could be mistaken. Once we heard this old Cumbia we couldn’t get enough of it; very easy to segue it into old ska for the dancefloor, too… Through Cumbia I got into the great Guillermo Portabales then onto Caetano Veloso and all sorts. These Cumbia tracks are records my kids love now. They call it chicken chasing music.
