Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

This is a jumping live take of a famous tune, full of energy and equally full of mistakes. I’d pretty much only ever play this to tire the dancers out, get them to expend their last bit of energy before we closed things down with something more sedate. The great Barney McKenna on the banjo here sounds as though he’s perhaps had a few too many to be playing lead lines, but really, who hasn’t been in that position? Most of the dancers would have been the same for sure.
