Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

This was taken off the first record I ever bought, a rock & roll compilation from the mid-70s. An aunt had given me a record token and me, in my musical ignorance, well, I’d gone for the record with the flashiest cover. A good choice it seems, some classic tracks on it – Roy Orbison’s ‘Domino’, some crazed Bill Haley live cuts, Bill Justis. I always try and play a track from this scratchy old LP wherever I DJ.
