It’s a perfect album. I think it’s—I think it might be the best album ever made! It is perfect. I could cry about it. It’s just perfect!

Was this an album you discovered during your childhood?

Yeah, and just growing up on black music and soul, you know, but it’s just…it’s just perfection. There’s not much more I can say about it. It’s one of the most beautiful records ever made. It’s so poignant in what it says and how relevant it is to us now. You know, [he’s] very missed as a musician.

There’s a couple of people on that list that and I often wonder what they would be doing now. What would he be doing? What would John Lennon be doing? What amazing things they gave us. I think it’s ultimate perfection, personally. Just because of everything that it stands for. And don’t forget that Motown thought it was shit and never released it! Isn’t that the case about so many great records though? Got quite a lot of them in here. Blue Lines wasn’t massive when it came out, Check Your Head wasn’t either.
