Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

5. Wipers – Over The Edge

This is another album that I heard when I started playing guitar, and I based a lot of my style and how I wanted to play on it. They sounded totally different to other punk bands of the time. The guitars really special, somehow – it’s different sounding because there’s a lot of anger there, but the vocals are really emotional sounding. It’s pretty intense.

Again, this was the first of their albums I bought – a lot of people prefer their first album Youth Of America, but I still prefer this one. It’s more special to me.
