5. LiveThrowing Copper

I found them through the music videos and the illustration on the cover. I’m an artist. I’m a kid who loves to draw. And I’m walking in the alt rock section and I see these short figures with large heads, walking in this graphic. It was just so interesting. It made me try it and listen. It’s got some of the most incredible records, like ‘Lightning Crashes’ and ‘I Alone’. When I think about visual representations in music, there are some artists that just do that. Soundgarden is one of them. Aphex Twin is one of them, with Chris Cunningham,  and then Live. They made great visuals that really spoke to the artistry of what they were trying to convey. The cover represented the sound, and I enjoyed it. It was another voice that was interesting to me. I thought he sang in a way that wasn’t conventional to what the alternative rock artists were singing. It had different tone, similar to R.E.M.
