Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. Little DragonMachine Dreams

I’ve always been fascinated by Swedish experimentation, or Scandinavian experimentation and soul music. I don’t know if it’s in the water or the meatballs they have over there but it always seems to be very interesting.

I think I must have heard ‘Blinking Pigs’ first and I was completely blown away. Then I looked into it more and listened to the record more. I love Yukimi Nagano’s voice and I love that it sounds like they’re having fun with this record. It’s part soul, part downtempo, part electronic. I love the mixture of genres. I love that the music goes in one direction and then her voice takes it to the next level.
