Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

10. Black UhuruGuess Who’s Coming To Dinner

Black Uhuru were one of those futuristic Rastafari bands that blew everyone away when they came out. It sounded like Sly and Robbie, but the approach and sound visually and aurally, there was no one else like them.

‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’, the opening track on the album is one of my favourites that I love so much. It is another roots reggae classic, around this when this album was released I had ideas of joining the army, the Royal Engineers but Rastafari put a stop to that.
