Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. MadonnaRay Of Light

One of the greatest pop records of all time, particularly of that 90s era. It was very brave of her to go with a fairly unknown producer at the time in William Orbit – he was well known amongst the kind of dance heads but still quite niche. I think Ray Of Light was part of the reason dance music kind of crossed over from the underground to the mainstream. But also I love her voice on this record, and I love what she’s saying, the spirituality of it.
