10. The ProdigyInvaders Must Die
I could’ve picked any Prodigy album but I’ve gone for this one. Again, you put The Prodigy in a live situation and I don’t think there is a band on the planet that would want to follow them. If The Prodigy are playing anywhere they have to be the last band on otherwise you might as well go home. Not that this would ever happen, but if someone said to me, ‘You’re going to follow The Prodigy’ I’d say, ‘I’m fucking not!’ Once The Prodigy have been on and the crowd have gone absolutely ballistic what’s the point? Nobody sounds as good live as The Prodigy and nobody has the energy they have.
I’ve been to see them so many times and I’ve tried to work out what it is that makes it so special and I don’t know. It’s a relentless energy at such a high output and it really doesn’t stop. Even in between songs the drummer carries on doing grooves and he just goes off on his own! Just brilliant!
Rammstein have got the whole show thing going on but The Prodigy have got something else.
