Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. KraftwerkComputer World

All their records are fantastic. But I chose this one because it’s proof you could make warm electronic music. People would say, electronic music is cold, it’s got no heart, but Kraftwerk made almost this "summer" music, almost tropical.

I liked this one the best also because it’s a little bit less martial or German than The Man-Machine or Radio-Activity. Of course I went to see them playing in 3D this year – I enjoyed it very much.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Nite Jewel, Marie Davidson, Trans Am, Vince Clarke, Lloyd Cole, Jon Spencer
