I wouldn’t have guessed you would be a Cat Power fan…

There is just something in her voice – this breath that’s she got. I can feel it coming straight from her body. She is not pretending at any moment. I like that a lot. Her records get better and better. I remember listening to You Are Free, and I heard something that was really appealing to me. It’s a human quality.

Some would claim you’ve got one of the great rock voices too.

I don’t have a fantastic voice. I have some power, and I’ve learned to control it with the years. Maybe that’s what makes it special, you know. I can lose it in one concert, and then find it the next night.
