Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

I remember hearing ‘Archie, Marry Me’ when I was probably 11, and I totally fell in love with their music and Molly Rankin’s voice. I’ve been lucky enough to have met them a few times and talk with Alec [O’Hanley], the guitarist and one of the writers in the band. I remember one of the first things I ever recorded actually was me in my room upstairs on GarageBand, and I was rerecording ‘Archie, Marry Me’. It was maybe one of the first times I ever really recorded something. My older brother’s a voice actor and he had a microphone, so I learned how to point it at my guitar and record something. [The result] was so embarrassing that I deleted it. Maybe it’s somewhere on some hard drive on an old computer, but if I ever find it, I would probably put it out because it’s a point in history that I think is funny. But yeah, I was pretty embarrassed by it.
