Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

3. Scott WalkerTilt

All of Scott Walker’s records are perfect, but this one particularly – it has this rock vibe and a very weird structure. The song ‘Bolivia ‘95’ was my favourite song for a long time. I was listening to his discography because I was super excited about him and when I arrived at Tilt I was constantly surprised by how he arranged stuff. ‘Why did he make that decision?’ It’s one of my perfect-10 records. Climate Of Hunter is maybe close, but I haven’t listened to it as much as Tilt. The intimidation of the sound gives me energy, it makes me want to get in a mosh pit. It’s super epic and I connect to it in a very energetic way.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Gavin Friday, Simon Fisher Turner, Keeley Forsyth, Tom Fleming, Arabrot
