Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

6.

The Left Banke – Walk Away Renee/Pretty Ballerina

If you do not own this record, then The Left Banke are the greatest band you have yet to fall in love with. Every track on this record blew my mind. The arrangements and harmony are startling, I went through every day for half of 2007 listening to this record, trying to live inside of it. ‘Pretty Ballerina’ is one of the most beautiful records ever made.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Lord Spikeheart, Tom Ravenscroft
