Richard Norris – Spiders in My Mynd VOL 1

This is a compilation made by Richard Norris, my partner in Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve. Richard was instrumental in introducing me to psychedelic music and this is the point at which I really delved deep and further explored the richness of psychedelia, freakbeat and beyond. My roots have always been in guitar music so it was a natural progression.

This hand-made compilation (burnt onto a nice gold CDr) marked the first time I heard Rameses & Selket’s ‘Mind’s Eye’, Country Joe and the Fish ‘The Masked Marauder’ and July’s ‘My Clown’. This was a portal into some of the most fantastic music I’ve ever heard in my life, and which I haven’t stopped exploring. I credit Richard as the artist who exposed and introduced me to what I may not have known about otherwise.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Lord Spikeheart, Tom Ravenscroft
