Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

Oh, I love Kate! Another childhood one played on that funny little tape recorder with the buttons on the front. I don’t think she’s that keen on her early stuff. I went to her 2014 gigs, and she didn’t play anything before Hounds of Love. But Lionheart… I was just enchanted by this. There’s a lyric in ‘Symphony In Blue’ when it goes, “The more I think about sex the better it gets.” And I’d be, I hope my mum doesn’t walk in when I’m listening to this! The title track, ‘Oh England My Lionheart’, I’d like to do a cover of that. All the Shakespeare and these English references I just loved, even at that age.
