7. Jorge BenÁfrica Brasil

A guy who played in The Fiery Furnaces lived in Portugal for a while and got into Brazilian music through a Portuguese girlfriend. For a couple of years, I just exclusively listened to Brazilian music. It was a particular period, a phase, where I was just sick of indie rock. We were touring all the time and it was something we could all happily listen to in the van. I could name a whole bunch of records but this, again, is one I have on vinyl and, as I keep saying, I play it from the beginning, flip it, go again. It’s also a great party record.
