Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

10. Nils FrahmScrews

This is an incredible record – it’s a beautiful masterpiece and he’s so good live too. One of the great composers and he’s a really cool, sweet guy; I like him a lot. He just did an incredible soundtrack, too [Music For The Motion Picture Victoria]. I wouldn’t really know how to categorise his music – he really experiments with different genres in his own very Nils-y way. He’s got dub songs! He’ll start off a set playing spaced-out kind of King Tubby dub tunes and then he’ll move into a very poetic, beautiful, minimalist composition. He’s just very, very unique – he’s totally individual when it comes to expressing himself and he’s a great artist. Can’t go wrong with that.
