With that album it was like the first time I’d really heard creativity. When I listened to it it wasn’t just about the music, it was about other things. Even the skits on there, they were so creative – like mini movies. There were so many different people involved in the album so even on one track you might hear harmonies from ladies, guys, and they’re not even credited on the name of the track. They’re just part of the way it was made. I love the way it’s made. I want to go harder when it comes to skits on my future albums, like mini ideas to get the real background of the real pub or the real club. I found it very story-driven, there were lyrics but there was also a lot of stories. [he sings] “Lodi dodi, we likes to party, We don’t cause trouble, we don’t bother nobody,” he’s walking with the riddims, just like, yeah man, that was one of my first openers. I think one of the singles captured me and then I was aware of the album after that. The videos were sick as well with the cars that used to bounce up and down, with the wheels and the hydraulics. All the guys in the hood, on the block. It was like watching Boyz In The Hood but in a music video.
