Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

9. Aaron DillowayModern Jester

As far as influences go, seeing Wolf Eyes when Aaron was in the band, and then seeing him solo… I’ve always thought that he was really special out of my generation And I remember he gave me Modern Jester and I put it in the car. Jessica Rylan is another of those people where I was like, this is next level, this is great, because it kicks me in the ass to try and be better. Every time I’ve seen Aaron, it’s always something different. There’s something about Modern Jester that really knocked me for a loop. It takes me exactly back to putting it on in my car and going, ‘What the hell is this? This is incredible. It sounds like it’s coming from inside my head.’ Yeah, it just feels like witchcraft or something.
