I must have first started listening to this record when I was recording with F ingers and Tarcar. Back then I didn’t really listen to music with people singing in languages other than English. This was the first record that changed that. It made me aware of how powerful the human voice is as an instrument in conveying emotion. The vocals are in Polish and although I can’t understand what’s being said when I listen to this music I feel somehow fully immersed in the stories of these songs. The instrumentation is just as crucial to this record, conveying the mood and atmosphere of the tracks. The sounds are poignant and weird and melodic. It says on the band’s Bandcamp that their music is inspired by medieval sounds, which is a good description. I always imagine them singing about some gothic fairytale when I’m listening to the music.
It came at a time when I was living in some rundown houses and just playing in bands and trying to make weird, interesting music, experimental and improvised. This album had a kind of improvised sound that I was influenced by.
