Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

12. Vincent Over The Sink22 Coloured Bull-Terriers

This is a record that reminds me strongly of a time and place. Although Vincent Over The Sink is an Australian band it’ll always bring back memories of when I moved to Berlin in 2015. My friend released this record around that time, and it was constantly playing in the background. This is a deeply weird and affecting record. Each song feels like a brief glimpse into the internal workings of someone’s mind, as they unpack their daily thoughts or nightmares. It’s experimental, loose, psychedelic and free-form. It also sounds very Australian to me. It’s got a kind of laid-back, slouchy quality. It’s also really rich and textural. It’s impossible to replicate music like this, I just feel lucky to have discovered it.
