Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever danced to a record as much as I’ve danced to this record. Now they went a bit commercial, but before they went anywhere near that they had this – it was the absolute key to this whole style of music for me. And it would cause ructions, because if you were with your girlfriend, or you were chatting someone up or whatever, the first couple of notes of this come in and it’s "right see you later" – straight on to the dancefloor until the very last note. I have so, so many memories of this track, it’s been with me my whole life, I’ll still play it in the car, and still it kicks in and I have that "what???" reaction, it hits that hard. Again I’d love to be the bass player in this band, it’s so hard, it’s on the one – it’s just a very, very heavy tune and I love it.
