Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

5. Nikki SuddenLost In A Sea Of Scarves

There’s something about The Jacobites, there’s something about Nikki Sudden and Dave Kusworth, that to me, they’re sort of the last human beings that for my personal taste I will give attention to in that sort of style. I’m not very into dressing up or people dressing in that style, and somehow, they just did it and it worked, and they were magical. There’s something where on paper it doesn’t seem like it would work if I read what they were about, but listening to them, they’re just so much more than the sum of their parts. And the romanticism of all of it, there’s a naivety and they’re just great songwriters, they can do amazing things with just a few chords.
