It’s a world away from the Feedback Works, and that’s another thing to say about Radigue: how wonderful it is to see someone embrace themselves as a person. In sound, there’s so clear there’s a shift in that person – how they work, why they’re doing what they’re doing – but her stamp is firmly in every sound she makes.
It’s like ‘Bye Bye Butterfly,’ where you hear how someone works with samples and think “it doesn’t just have to be how Mix Master Mike does it.” It can be even more subtle. I mean tapes and records – they’re like cousins, right? Close but not the same.
