6. Bob Azzam And His Orchestra‘Mustapha’ / ‘Tintarella Di Luna’

This was very much an Apapa Club favourite. I was mad on it, both sides. He’s Egyptian with Lebanese roots, and it was sung in Italian, so even more mad on it! Something I found out today is that he was also an electronic engineer who was credited with inventing an early echo chamber. They were very exotic rhythms to me and it led me directly to others with that type of vibe, Yma Sumac, Martin Denny, Les Baxter, that type of exotica feel. Those vibes where you can visualise being in another place, wherever it might be.
