9. DovesThe Last Broadcast

The middle part of the 2000s was a barren period, in my mind, for music. I don’t remember having much to feed off. Then Doves came out, and it was the best thing I’d heard for ages, and was listening to it a lot in the middle years of the 2000s. I was a government minister, so maybe I was out of things at the time, but I felt like Doves were the only band going back to the true traditions of what I was brought up on.
