12. Manuel GöttschingE2-E4
This Manuel Göttsching record is representing the krautrock. I’m a huge krautrock lover. Göttsching was in Ash Ra Tempel and he made this instrumental album, which is one long piece of music. It’s a little bit like a guitar jam over electronics, which is obviously something that appeals to me. It was an accidental dance hit, because I don’t think he ever envisioned it as that. It was made in the early 80s and there wasn’t such a thing as acid house then, but it feels like a house record because of the tempo and sequences. It’s like a brilliant accident. I still listen to it now. He did another album as well, which I recently found and got really excited, but it’s not quite as good as E2-E4.
