8. The Rolling StonesLet It Bleed

EC: It’s from 1969, I think.

GM: But when did you first hear it? Not then. You were still a kid then.

EC: I investigated it in the Orange Juice days. I bought that Andy Warhol one, the Factory one, the black and white jeans.

Sticky Fingers?

EC: Yes. This is classic and country rock. ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ is an all-time classic. I don’t know what’s more, really, it’s just got good songs on it.

GM: He’s all for the songs.

E: And Charlie Watts, what a drummer. And Keith Richards’ playing.

Have you seen the Rolling Stones live?

EC: No.

Would you see them?

EC: No.

Why?

EC: It’s too expensive! [laughs] 

Good answer!

EC: They’re the same as me, older, but crinkly!
