Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

EC: This is the second album, as opposed to the first album, Marquee Moon. I think that I’ve still got it. It’s red vinyl. ‘Glory’ is fantastic. ‘Days’ too. It’s just as good as Marquee Moon in my opinion. Controversial! And Tom Verlaine on vocals. He used a Jazzmaster. He’s dead, of course.

GM: [laughs] Oh, Edwyn.

EC: He can play the guitar, of course, a great guitar, but it’s kind of jazz and indie combined. He’s a great solo player, of course, and, I’m just thinking, when I was a teenager, it really did feel kind of adventurous. And it still feels newer, I guess.
